Every piece has a story to tell. For us, that meant traveling thousands of miles to witness where it all begins.
Earlier this year, Viea founders Devi and Rhea traveled through renowned pearl and gemstone markets with one purpose: to go beyond the showroom and experience the industry at its source.
Instead of browsing finished products, they walked through the capitals of these markets filled with trays of luminous freshwater pearls, each one naturally unique in its shape, luster, and character and discovered gemstones in every shade imaginable—from earthy tiger's eye and rich onyx to glowing moonstone, jade, turquoise, and quartz—carefully sorted before making their way across the world.
But what made the journey truly unforgettable wasn't just the materials.
It was meeting the people behind them.
Rather than sourcing through layers of distributors and third parties, we choose to work directly with cultivators, manufacturers, and skilled artisans who have spent years mastering their craft. Witnessing the process firsthand offered a rare glimpse into the care, precision, and dedication behind every pearl and gemstone before they ever reach a jewelry collection.
These relationships matter.
By connecting directly with the creators, Viea gains greater transparency into how its materials are selected and handled, ensuring that every freshwater pearl and natural gemstone is thoughtfully and ethically sourced.
